With the joint efforts between NATTA Banke Chapter, NATTA Gandaki, and local governments of Pokhara and Nepalgunj, flights between Nepalgunj and Pokhara have been started with chartered flights from Sita Air’s 18-seater aircraft.

The same plane will fly from Pokhara to Banke and Bardiya tourist areas. Natta has fixed a one-way fare of Rs 4,995 for the flight. Varities of Travel packages are also available through different members of NATTA, please contact your nearest travel agency for such.

The charter flight will fly to Nepalgunj-Pokhara and Pokhara-Nepalgunj every Friday and Sunday.

The first flight of Sita Air from Nepalgunj Airport to Pokhara took off at 1:00pm on Friday carrying a team of 18 entrepreneurs from Banke and Bardiya under the leadership of the mayor of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City Dhawal Shamsher Rana. Mayor Rana said that the launch of the airlinefor the first time was a historic moment even though issue of flights had been in discussion for years. “Pokhara has become a cheap and short route for Indian tourists who want to visit Muktinath, and Pokhara regions.” This will also help in the development of the tourism in Banke and Bardiya, and Mayor Rana also says an initiation for Nepalgunj-Delhi flights will also be taken soon.

Krishna Prasad Shrestha, coordinator of Tourism Promotion forum Banke, claims that Nepalgunj-Pokhara flight connection will benefit the tourism sector affected by the pandemic of COVID-19. He said the flight proves to be a milestone in promoting tourism and the federal governments should start regular flights on this sector to promote tourism on both the regions.

A team from NATTA Gandaki led by Pokhara Metropolitan Mayor Man Bahadur GC welcomed the team of tourism businessmen from Banke and Bardiya led by the Mayor of Nepalgunj at Pokhara Airport. The tourism entrepreneurs held a press conference in lakeside informing of the flights and the possibilities for growth of tourism in both the regions.
