With the initiation of NATTA Gandaki Province, an interaction program was held on 14 September, 2021 at Boomerang Restaurant, Lakeside regarding the re-opening of tourism sites in Pokhara. The participants included the heads of the tourism sites/management committees, and tourism entrepreneurs, representatives from Pokhara Tourism Council, Western Regional Hotel Association, Restaurant and Bar Association(REBAN Pokhara),  among others.

The discussions were focused on re-opening of all the religious, cultural and natural tourism sites inside of Pokhara from September 17, 2021 abiding by all the safety and health protocols. The participants encouraged the reopening of tourism sites following the safety protocols as there are thousands of workers and businesses that have been hit by the global pandemic due to COVID-19.

President of Pokhara Tourism Council Mr. Gopi Bhattarai expressed his views on opening of the tourism in Pokhara from September 17th. He asserts that the businesses are on the verge of collapsing if they aren’t allowed to operate now. He added that businesses should now be allowed to reopen following the recommended safety regulations and with some attractive packages that can revive the tourism sector.

President of NATTA Gandaki, Mr. Sanjaya Kant Sigdel said that the religious, cultural and natural sites of Pokhara are ready to fully reopen from September 17th. The representatives from the tourism sites also agree that the sites must now be reopen for tourism.
